Pyramid Schemes
Seniors, Be Aware of Pyramid Schemes!
Have you been invited to join a “can’t-miss” opportunity where you earn money by recruiting others? That could be a pyramid scheme—an illegal scam that can cost you and your loved ones thousands.
What’s a Pyramid Scheme?
It’s a fake “business” model where money is made by recruiting more people, not by selling a real product or service. The people at the top make money, while those at the bottom (usually the newest) lose.
Warning Signs:
You’re told to pay upfront to join
Promises of “easy money” or “guaranteed returns”
Focus is on bringing in others, not actual products
Pressure to act fast or “miss out”
Remember: If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
If you think you’ve been approached by a scammer, contact your local consumer protection agency or the police. Stay safe and talk to someone you trust before investing!
Please share this with your loved ones. Awareness is our best defense!
