Holidays are a perfect time for sightseeing and keeping in touch with loved ones via phone or the internet. But remember – it’s important to stay cautious online too!
Be careful with emails and text messages from unknown sources – especially those with links, offers, or requests for personal information. They may be scams!
Don’t reply to messages from strangers in messaging apps (e.g., WhatsApp, Messenger). Scammers often pretend to be family members!
Call before you react! If someone writes to you asking for financial help – call first to make sure it’s really your loved one.
Don’t give in to time pressure – scammers often say “you must act now” or “this is urgent” – don’t fall for it!
Always keep your phone’s screen lock on – it’s your first line of defense in case it’s lost or stolen.
The internet is a wonderful tool – but only if we use it wisely. Take good online habits with you on holiday – and come back with only happy memories! ![]()
